OWL Congratulates EMT Avery Wise on Achieving OMD Endorsement

Less than two years after joining OWL as a Junior Member, EMT Avery Wise has reached another significant milestone—successfully completing the Prince William County Fire & Rescue System’s Operational Medical Director (OMD) requirements and earning his endorsement to serve as an EMS provider.

Avery’s journey with OWL began in October 2024, when he joined the department as a Junior Member. Since then, he has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to learning and serving his community.

Last year, Avery earned both his Virginia EMT-Basic certification and National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification. After turning 18 in November, he transitioned from Junior Member to an Active Operational Member, marking another milestone in his fire and rescue career.

Avery’s passion for emergency medical services began while working as a lifeguard, where he discovered a desire to help others during emergencies. Encouraged by a friend already involved with OWL, he took the next step by joining the department and pursuing his EMT certification.

Recently, Avery graduated from Logos Classical Academy and has no plans of slowing down. Throughout the summer, he intends to continue building his skills by training to become both a Lead EMT and an Ambulance Driver before heading to college this fall.

Avery’s dedication to continuous learning and serving others reflects the commitment and professionalism that define OWL’s members. We are incredibly proud of all he has accomplished in such a short time and look forward to watching him continue to grow in the fire and EMS service.

Congratulations, Avery, on earning your OMD endorsement, and best of luck as you begin this exciting next chapter!
