The original station was constructed in 1969 and has been expanded over the years to include a classroom, administrative offices, larger bunkrooms, and a large hall.
The station houses 2 engines, a heavy rescue squad, a collapse unit, and 2 ambulance/medic units. Station 2’s primary response area is the northern portion of Woodbridge, Interstate 95, and portions of the Occoquan and Potomac Rivers.
Volunteer duty crews staff from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weekdays and 24 hours on weekends and holidays. Paid personnel from the Prince William County Fire and Rescue System work a 56-hour week. Crews staff either an engine or the heavy rescue squad seven days a week.
