OWL Celebrates Graduation of New Firefighters
Volunteer Firefighter Recruit Graduation Ceremony
On Wednesday, January 11th, the Prince William County Fire & Rescue System held its Volunteer Firefighter Recruit Graduation Ceremony at the Public Safety Training Center located at 13101 Public Safety Drive in Nokesville, Virginia.
Volunteer Recruit Class 23003 “The Firehawks” consisted of 13 recruits who successfully completed six months of rigorous academic and physical training at the System’s Public Safety Training Center. Each student performed 420 hours of training which consisted of 300 hours of Firefighter I & II, 40 hours of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus Training, 40 hours of Hazardous Materials Training (up to the Operations level), 5 days of Firefighter Survival Training. 16 hours of Introduction to Technical Rescue and 16 hours of Vehicle Extrication Training. Upon graduation, they will be designated as a Firefighter.

OWL VFD’s Kavious Manley received Top Graduate Recruit Honors. In addition, he was also selected by his fellow recruits to receive the Prince William Chamber of Commerce Leadership award.
