How to know if you have COVID-19 and what to do about it.
We’ve received a lot of questions about COVID-19; how to know if you have it, what to do if you have it. Here are some guidelines and recommendations to practice and share:
- The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) has a public helpline for questions about coronavirus: 1-877-ASK-VDH3 (1-877-275-8343). Community resource specialists are available to answer questions from the public and in English or Spanish.
- Visiting an emergency department with no symptoms will only further one’s risk of exposure and put a strain on resources for those who need it most. If you think you have the Corona virus, Sentara Hospital says to ask yourself these questions:
Do you have 2 of the 3 symptoms below?
- Fever (100.4 degrees or higher)
- Cough
- Shortness of breath
AND
In the last month, have you been in contact with someone who was confirmed or suspected to have COVID-19, OR have you traveled internationally or to an area with a known COVID-19 outbreak?

IF NO: Please, stay home. Continue to follow the CDC recommended prevention methods and monitor for a change in symptoms. IF YES:
