A Year in Service, Growth and Community: OWL VFD’s 2025 Year in Review

As another year draws to a close, the OWL VFD is proud to reflect on a year of growth, service, and community engagement. Our members continued to demonstrate the dedication, professionalism, and community spirit that define our mission of protecting lives and property throughout Woodbridge, Occoquan and Lake Ridge.

Training & Professional Development

2025 was a year of exceptional accomplishments for our members:

  • We celebrated the graduation of Prince William County Fire & Rescue System’s (PWC FRS) Volunteer Recruit Class 26036, with OWL members among those recognized for their significant achievements.
  • Through rigorous training and commitment, several members completed advanced certifications in fire operations, EMS, and technical rescue disciplines, strengthening our operational readiness.

These accomplishments highlight OWL VFD’s continued investment in training and professional development, ensuring our volunteers are prepared for the challenges of today’s emergency response environment.

Community Engagement & Public Service

Our commitment to community safety extended beyond emergency response this year:

  • OWL proudly hosted the Prince William County Fire & Rescue System & Inova Blood Donor Services Blood Drive at Station 2. Community members came out in strong support, helping save lives through this lifesaving partnership.

These events not only support public health but also strengthen our ties to the community we serve.

Outreach & Safety Education

Throughout 2025, OWL VFD continued to engage with the public through social media and community education:

  • We shared departmental milestones, member recognitions, and safety tips across our platforms, helping keep residents informed and prepared.
  • Posts celebrating member accomplishments, recruitment efforts, and important safety reminders fostered ongoing connection with our followers.

Your views, likes, comments, and shares help amplify fire safety awareness across our community — thank you!

Looking Ahead to 2026

As we reflect on 2025, OWL VFD is grateful for the support of our families, neighbors, and partner agencies, including the Prince William County Fire & Rescue System. We look forward to continuing our mission of service, training, and community involvement in the coming year.

From all of us at OWL Volunteer Fire Department, thank you for a meaningful and impactful 2025 — and here’s to an even stronger 2026!
