OWL Auxiliary Inducts 2024 Leadership

OWL’s Auxiliary Department recently held its annual elections. The 2024 Officers were inducted at OWL’s February Company Meeting.

When it comes to funding, the OWL Auxiliary operates separately from the fire and rescue department. From their early days of participating in WDCA-TV Channel 20’s Community Club Awards, a local competition that required collecting receipts and bottle caps for monetary prizes, and years of operating a snack bar at bingo, the group has worked hard to raise funds to provide support to OWL VFD Members.

OWL’s Auxiliary Department has a long history of supporting OWL VFD members in various ways. Among their support efforts are responding to fire scenes where crews are expected to be for an extended period of time and providing food and beverages. For several years, Auxiliary members have cooked hundreds of hot dogs and supplied beverages and snacks for guests attending the department’s Annual Open House event. The Auxiliary has also coordinated many holiday parties and various other events for members and their families to enjoy.

The Auxiliary is genuinely part of the “backbone” of support that keeps OWL VFD operating successfully.
