OWL Reports Total Volunteer Hours for 2023

Operational and administrative members at the Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department (OWL VFD) clocked 53,132 hours in 2023. The dedication of OWL VFD’s volunteers continues to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to serving the community.

OWL VFD’s operational members are instrumental, highly trained, and certified individuals who selflessly donate their time and expertise. In 2023, OWL VFD’s volunteer firefighters and EMS responders reported 46,247 hours volunteered.

In addition to the remarkable operational hours, OWL VFD reported 6,885 support hours by administration members. These dedicated members play a vital support role in keeping the department running smoothly by assisting both volunteer and career staff who serve in operational positions.

Administration members at OWL VFD complete a multitude of crucial tasks that are essential to the department’s functioning. These roles encompass station maintenance, equipment upkeep, fundraising efforts, public education initiatives, and more. Their dedication ensures that the department is well-equipped, organized, and able to provide a high level of service to the community.
