OWL Member earns money for Volunteer Hours
Getting paid to Volunteer!For every hour OWL VFD Firefighter Frank Bruno volunteers, his employer, Microsoft, donates $25 per hour volunteered to OWL. Through the Microsoft Employee Giving Program, Firefighter Bruno earned a total of $30,000 for his service in 2021 and 2022. So far in 2023, he has earned over $6,700.
Microsoft created the program in 1983 to support their employees’ passion for giving. The company matches employee donations of time and money to nonprofit organizations. In the fiscal year 2022, over 29,000 Microsoft employees volunteered more than 720,000 hours.
