OWL VFD Members Graduate EMT Class
The Prince William County Fire & Rescue System’s (PWCFRS) Spring 2023 EMT Class includes three OWL VFD members.

The Prince William County Fire and Rescue System offers an EMT-Basic course that is accredited by the Virginia Department of Health Office of Emergency Medical Services. The three-month EMT program is competency-based and scenario-driven. Students complete over 140 hours learning basic anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology, practicing life-saving trauma and medical emergency skills. In addition to class time, they are required complete clinical time on ambulance and medic units.

The graduates are now eligible to take the National Registry EMT-Basic cognitive examination. After passing this test, they will receive the Virginia State EMT-Basic Certification and the National Registry of EMTs Basic Certification.
