David H. Williams is OWL VFD’s 2021 New Fire Crew Member of the Year

David H. Williams is OWL VFD’s 2021 New Fire Crew Member of the Year. He joined OWL VFD in the Summer of 2020 and from his very first shift, his crew recognized his strong commitment to learning the skills necessary to become a certified firefighter and a productive member of the duty crew.

Becoming a productive member of a duty crew also includes the upkeep of the firehouse. Just like at any house, there’s cleaning, cooking, and various other tasks. Regardless of how big the task, such as washing apparatus, or how little the task, such as taking out the trash, Williams never shies away from helping around the station.

As a recruit in fire school, he was fully committed to learning the course materials and physical skills associated with becoming a firefighter. His dedication to learning led to his graduating as the top recruit in his class.

Williams continues to work with new recruits in weekly training sessions and has shown his dedication to making sure that OWL remains the finest volunteer fire department in Prince William County.
